It is hard to believe how fast time goes by. Now, all these years have passed by. On June 17, 2003, we purchased our 45 acre adjoining farm, hung out a “shingle” as they say offering horse boarding and lessons. New in 2017 we adopted our new logo, incorporating hints of horses, animals and nature programs offered here. All the down home goodness found on the farm.
Since our meager beginning, 2003, we have grown in more ways than one and include many wonderful experiential programs, all about hands on experiences. Our Therapeutic Horsemanship (OTH Ohio Therapeutic Horsemanship) has a new name merging our efforts and is now called: Cherry Ridge Therapeutic Learning Programs our 501c3 non profit which we started in 2007. We've branched out from our popular Outdoor Classrooms and are now running programs called Dances With Nature: A woodland trail for special needs groups, and Grief Camp 4 Kids. In April, we are excited to begin First Friday Fall In for Vets and 1st Responders to tap into the therapeutic qualities of horses and human bonds.
We are excited, also, that we recently received a Foundation For Appalachian Ohio mini grant to begin developing and planting our Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in the farm's Prairie. We are hopeful to receive another grant to improve our woodland trail bordering White Oak Creek to better serve special needs children including shelters and seating for inclement weather and gravel pathways on the trail. If these things excite you, and you want to help make them happen, contact Sherry. It's a team effort here on the farm. We need you.
Through the varied activities on the farm, we meet many wonderful kids and their families. From the start we couldn't help but marvel at how God has directed our path and continues to bring "helpers" our volunteers, that make all this possible for them.
So, Happy New Year! We are thankful for all we have in our pipeline this year to better serve our community. As always, we continue to be true to our motto: Enriching Lives-Fulfilling Dreams! Our dreams and yours.
Thank you from our farm family to yours. Hope, Healing & Horses
